Please call the phone numbers in the main sheet of your policy
- We recommend not to move your vehicle from the place of the accident; if you have to, please inform the Emergency Department.
- Do not negotiate or conclude agreements with thirds.
- If the circumstances of the accident require notifying the Authorities, our staff will help you with all the proceedings needed.
It is mandatory to deliver all the following documents:
- Copy of the report from the “Policia Federal de Caminos” (Mexican Federal Highway Police)
- Copy of the report from the “Ministerio Público” (Local D.A. Office)
- Copy of the insured’s ID
- Copy of the Registration Card.
- ORIGINAL Certificate of Title. If the vehicle is financed or leased, a copy of the contract and a letter from the Financial or Leasing Company to the Mexican Insurance Company containing the balance and stating that, upon the reception the corresponding payment from the company, they shall send the original documentation of proof of ownership of the duly released vehicle, to MAPFRE.
- Copy of the temporary import permition.
Note: If the documentation is incomplete or presents any inconvenience this will stop the process and you will be notified of the reason for the delay.
Please call the phone numbers in the main sheet of this document and ask for an appointment with a MAPFRE representative, who will help you make the report to the authorities.
For handling this type of incident the company request the following documentation:
- Certified copy of the Stolen Vehicle Report from the “Ministerio Publico” (Local D.A. Office).
- Copy of the report from the “Policia federal Caminos” (Mexican Federal Highway Police)
- Copy of MAPFRE Insurance Policy
- Copy of the temporary import permition.
- Copy of Registration Card.
- ORIGINAL Certificate of Title. If the vehicle is financed or leased, a copy of the contract and a letter from the Financial or Leasing Company to the Mexican Insurance Company containing the balance and stating that, upon the reception the corresponding payment from the company, they shall send the original documentation of proof of ownership of the duly released vehicle, to MAPFRE
- Certified copy of the confirmation of the stolen report from the “Ministerio Publico” (Local D.A. Office; Property accreditation).
- Keys of the vehicle. (duplicate)
- Copy of insured driver’s license.
- Copy of the “COURTIESY” report of the stolen vehicle undertaken before the Local Highway Patrol or Police Department (Where the vehicle is registered).
- Copy of the USA Insurance.

What happens if you need medical assistance?
- Ask for an admission medical pass to the adjuster at the place of the accident.
- If you did not receive an admission medical pass at the place of the accident, deliver the following documentation in order to get a refund of what you paid.
- Medical Report from the doctor responsible.
- Certificate of each injured person.
- X Rays.
- Receipts of expenses of each injured person.
All claims must be reported to any of the insured parties representatives in Mexico before re-crossing the border.
